STO Showcases Seoul’s MICE Appeal at IMEX America 2019
The Seoul Tourism Organization (STO) was a key feature at the Korea Pavilion, operated by the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) during this year’s run of IMEX America in Las Vegas from September 10-12. STO representatives were on hand to promote Seoul’s attractiveness as a capable and attractive host destination for business events. The US expo is the largest MICE trade show in North America. This year’s saw the ninth edition of the show attended by 130,000 global buyers, exhibitors, business visitors and media from 150 countries.
The Seoul booth drew much of attention from buyers through various programs, including recent Seoul PR videos featuring Seoul tourism’s honorary ambassadors BTS, as well as introducing the PLUS Seoul event support system, and a rundown of local infrastructure. Visitors could also enjoy various hands-on cultural programs provided by KTO such as traditional tea tasting, traditional pattern coaster making and more.
Lee Kyung Jae, head of the MICE Marketing Team at the Seoul Tourism Organization, said “America is a market with tremendous potential for attracting international conferences and corporate meetings. We will work hard to secure more opportunities to host international conferences and meetings in Seoul by regularly participating in IMEX America, the region’s largest MICE trade show.”
