Korea MICE Expo 2012 Returns to Seoul in July

Seoul Set to Once More Host Nation’s Top Business Events Trade Show

Seoul has confirmed a date for the 2012 Korea MICE Expo, the nation’s largest gathering between local and international meetings industry buyers. The event is scheduled to take place from July 3-5 next year at the Coex Convention & Exhibition Center. This will be the third consecutive time Seoul has hosted the Expo.

In 2009, the city successfully campaigned to transform the annual event into a major international trade show for the country over a three-year period from 2010-2012. Since then, the KME has grown significantly, attracting nearly 200 international buyers in the last two years. The number of business meetings held rose sharply once Seoul took over hosting duties, from just over 1,800 in 2009 to over 3,000 in 2010, and approximately 3,300 this year.

Additionally, the KME now includes major discussion forums paneled by local and overseas experts, including the Seoul MICE Forum, the Seoul MICE Youth Challenge, and Destination Presentations. These events and networking opportunities are some of Seoul’s many efforts to continue pushing the rapid growth and importance of the Expo, in order to make the KME a top calendar event in the global meetings community.
