Seoul Named ‘Favorite Worldwide City by Global MZ Generation’ for 4 Consecutive Years

 

Seoul has once again been recognized as the most favored city among the global MZ generation, securing the top spot for the fourth consecutive year.



The Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Tourism Organization announced on the 22nd that the city won the “Favorite Worldwide City” category at the 2025 The Trazees Awards, organized by U.S.-based travel media Trazee Travel.

Now in its 11th year, the awards are hosted by FXExpress Publications, the parent company of the world-renowned MICE magazine Global Traveler. 

Winners are determined through annual reader voting, and this year, around 800,000 people participated. Seoul ranked first, ahead of Dublin (2nd), Hong Kong (3rd), and London (4th).

The city’s four-year winning streak is attributed to factors such as the global spread of K-culture Seoul’s unique charm blending tradition and modernity Digital-based smart tourism infrastructure its status as a leading MICE destination. In particular, the recent popularity of K-Pop Demon Hunters has further boosted Seoul’s trendy image and strengthened its tourism competitiveness worldwide.



The city emphasized that it will continue to develop attractive urban tourism content and expand global marketing efforts to provide the MZ generation with sophisticated and engaging travel experiences.


Ki Yon Kil, CEO of the Seoul Tourism Organization, stated, “The global influence of K-pop and Hallyu, along with Seoul’s diverse and rich tourism and cultural content, have resonated strongly with North American MZ travelers. We will continue to ensure that Seoul, as a global city where tourism, business, culture, and arts coexist, remains beloved by people around the world.”

Goo Jong Won, General Director of Tourism and Sports Bureau at the Seoul Metropolitan Government, added, “Thanks to the global sensation of ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters,’ Seoul is gaining attention not only for its tourism infrastructure and content but also for its trendy lifestyle. Being ranked No.1 for four consecutive years proves the brand value and competitiveness of Seoul as a global tourism and cultural city. We will continue to support its development into an even more attractive destination.”
