Analyzing successful cases of sustainable tourism in overseas

‘Hiking – Oriental medicine experience – Seoul Sky’ tour

In collaboration with UNWTO, the Seoul Tourism Organization will host the “Seoul Sustainable Tourism Conference 2023” on November 16 to 17 under the theme of “One Planet: Responsible Consumption and Sustainable Travel,” shedding light on the present and future of the sustainable tourism ecosystem.

The conference will focus on in-depth analysis of sustainable consumption and production, as well as successful cases of cities and global organizations. The first day will delve into how sustainable tourism will shape the future of the tourism industry. It will gather new ideas about sustainable tourism, including perspectives from domestic and international online travel agencies (OTAs) on how they view global organizations and city institutions, and share diverse viewpoints of travelers. Furthermore, the conference will feature in-depth discussions on the direction to move forward in sustainable tourism, with case presentations from various international cities including Seoul and Hong Kong and the sessions of UNWTO patron members.

A FAM tour will take place on the next day, starting from Bukhansan Mountain to experience sustainable ecological tourism in Seoul. After the hike, participants will visit the Seoul K-MEDI Center to experience oriental medicine culture, and then visit the Seoul Sky observation deck on the 123rd floor of the Lotte World Tower, boasting the world's fifth-highest altitude at 555 m, to enjoy the view of Seoul's landscape and the autumn ambience.
