"Souvenirs for foreign tourists returning home... Promoting Seoul tourism”

STO, “Will introduce more diverse gift boxes through public-private cooperation”

“We expect that Seoul Gift Box will establish itself as a souvenir that foreign tourists can cherish as a memorable gift from Seoul upon their return.” (President & CEO of STO, Ki Yon Kil)

The Seoul Tourism Organization (STO) has recently launched a gift box of the city named “Seoul Gift Box” on November 2 through collaboration with BGF Retail which operates CU convenience stores. These snacks, consisting of classic Korean delicacies such as yakgwa (honey cookies) and gangjeong (sweet rice puffs), were specially designed by the organization and CU with a focus on catering to the preferences of foreign tourists, resulting in a unique packaged product.

The gift box's packaging, adorned with lively illustrations portraying prominent tourist and MICE destinations in Seoul, is certainly attention-grabbing. Designed based on the theme of “travel bag”, the gift box is crafted to highlight and promote significant attractions in Seoul, introducing the new Seoul brand “Seoul, My Soul” along with enchanting illustrations of renowned landmarks such as Gyeongbokgung Palace, N Seoul Tower, Noryangjin, and Dongdaemun Design Plaza.

Before the official launch, the STO hosted an online and on-site promotional event aimed at foreign tourists in Myeongdong on November 1. The event kicked off successfully, selling out on-site. The STO offered visitors a chance to taste Seoul Snacks through a purchase and photo event, drawing their attention with giveaways of posters, keychains, and other Seoul tourism souvenirs.

Moreover, the organization intends to develop Seoul Snacks into a collection that embodies Seoul. President&CEO Ki Yon Kil stated, “We aim to unveil a unique series of Seoul gift boxes, identifying iconic souvenirs for Seoul in collaboration with diverse industries.”

Seoul Gift Box, priced at KRW 17,000, can be purchased at CU convenience stores located throughout Seoul including Myeongdong and airports.
